The so called binaural beats tested on the brain in the 70s by Dr. Gerald Oster at the New York
clinic Mount Sinai which consist of applying different hertz frequencies to the two ears to
stimulate the brain according to their intensity.
The frequency of brain waves, calculated in cycles a second, or Hertz (Hz), varies according to
the type of activity which the brain is engaging in and can be measured with electronic
equipment. Scientists generally subdivide the waves in four categories that correspond to four
bands of frequency and which reflect the various activities of the brain: ALFA (7-13 Hz), BETA
(13-30Hz), DELTA (1-3Hz) e THETA (3-7Hz).
Binaural beats are generated by airwave frequencies asynchronous through the two ears and
stimulate the brain in a specific way depending on their intensity . Binaural beats interact with
airwave frequencies that are normally produced by the brain during its phases of activity .
As discovered on binaural beats, special effects may by the obtained by applying, with the use
of stereophonic headphones , some asynchronous airwave frequencies that the human ear
does not feel but the brain does. For example, by applying 500 and 510 HZ respectively,
causing a differential tone of 10Hz in the brain, that is in full ALFA a level and thus favouring
the effects of the alteration of perception through the absolutely natural stimulus of the
biochemical production of endorphins.
